The storm chain will help protect the storm door & closer against wind damage.

• At a slight angle, as shown, attach the bracket with the spring to the head jamb, 18" from the side jamb. Position it so the doors cannot strike it.
• Assemble the door bracket on the end of the chain by inserting the pin. Open the door to 90° and extend the chain with the bracket in place to meet the door. Mark the location of the screws through the brackets (1-1/4" down from the top of the door).
• Remove the pin from the chain and mount the bracket at the marked location. After the bracket is mounted, place the desired link of the chain into the bracket slot and reinsert the pin.
• Hook one end of the hold-up spring into the chain link hanging lowest when the door is closed by spreading the last coil of the spring and winding it around the appropriate link. Push a double-headed nail through the other end of the spring.
• Position the nail, with the spring attached, in the head jamb towards the hinge side, 1" away from the door or closer, so the hold-up spring is not stretched more than 1/4" when the door is closed.

• Assemblez le support de porte à l'extrémité de la chaîne en insérant la goupille. Ouvrez la porte à 90° et étendez la chaîne avec le support en place pour qu'elle atteigne la porte. Marquez l'emplacement des vis à travers les supports (à 1-1/4 po du haut de la porte).
• Retirez la goupille de la chaîne et fixez le support à l'emplacement marqué. Une fois le support fixé, placez le maillon désiré de la chaîne dans la fente du support et réinsérez la goupille.
• Accrochez une extrémité du ressort de maintien dans le maillon de la chaîne le plus bas lorsque la porte est fermée, en écartant la dernière spire du ressort et en l'enroulant autour du maillon approprié. Enfoncez un clou à double tête dans l'autre extrémité du ressort.
• Positionnez le clou, avec le ressort attaché, dans le montant supérieur du côté des charnières, à 1 po de la porte ou plus près, afin que le ressort de maintien ne soit pas étiré de plus de 1/4 po lorsque la porte est fermée.
